Riding eScooters with your friends these summer holidays!
Posted 11th December 2020. Category: General.
It’s an amazing feeling riding through your local neighborhood on a hot summer's day. Out in the open with the breeze through your hair zipping to the shops or heading for a swim. eScooters are becoming the hottest product this summer! For good reason.
Hot summer weekends are for outdoor activities with family or friends, swimming by the lake or picnic in the park - eScooters accompany outdoor lifestyles!
eScooters are versatile, depending on the model - you can ride them on sand, dirt, mud, through puddles - they are tough for all weekend conditions.
Camping with eScooters:
Becoming more and more popular, getting around the campsite on an electric scooter is practical and enjoyable. Exploring the neighbouring sites, generally with lots of open space and ample riding tracks makes them a game changer!
Electric scooters can be charged via solar. Use either a special 12v charger, or standard charger with AC 240v inverter - they can be recharged with a 100w panel (but check the scooter and charger model first). Charging an eScooter via solar means you should have plenty of power throughout your trip - perfect for crossing the country through the Simpson desert!
Houseboat and eScooters:
Pulling up to the jetty and having an electric scooter to use to travel around through the local town is a game changer. Suitable for dirt tracks or sealed pavement, you can keep them folded and snug in the house boat while charging, then rip them out and ride with the whole family when docked! They have low power consumption while charging, so you don’t need to worry about draining your houseboat battery or spending money on fuel for the generator.
Riding around Lake Burley Griffin:
Exploring lake Burley Griffin by eScooter is an excellent activity for the whole family. About a 30km round trip from end to end, you can explore the scenic landscape flora and fauna of the ACT - it is beautiful! The dam wall sits at the most western tip of the lake, and along the way around the lake are many sites and attractions including;
- National Zoo and Aquarium
- National Carillion
- National Gallery
- High Court
- National Museum
- National Arboretum
- Old Parliament House
Riding an electric scooter is a lot of fun! Riding with friends is even funner! Cruise down together to the beach or have a picnic at your local park. If the beach is overcrowded and you can’t find parking and public transport has queues till the end of the road, you’ll appreciate the two wheel device under your feet. Bring onto the sand, or bolt up to the bike stand - either way - nothing beats an eScooter on a hot summer's day.

WalkSmart recommends that you check your local state laws and regulations in relation to using electric scooters in public locations, roads and footpaths. Laws vary state by state and therefore may limit use to private locations only. Each local body is reviewing public electric scooter use, so we expect it to be regulated, but legal in all states within the short term. Feel free to contact WalkSmart if you have any further queries.
