Segway Max Honest Reviews And Guide!
Posted 30th September 2019. Category: General.
So, many people had been hyped up by the recent upbringing of the Segway Ninebot Max. From what started on Indiegogo, Segway Ninebot Max had received over six million dollars in funding and over five thousand backers. But is it worth it? Whether you are thinking to buy or upgrade your current electric scooter, Segway Max must have crossed your mind. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be reading this.
Now, the real question is: Do you need the range?
Segway MAX offers you 65 kilometres range or 40.5 miles. Compared to its competitor, Xiaomi PRO, which offer 45 kilometres or 28 miles. That is the obvious question and significant difference. Segway MAX can really provide you with that extra 20 km and also a more comfortable riding during these long runs.
However, If you find yourself needing a longer distance or faster transportation (i.e. trains or busses) Segway MAX might give you the maximum hassle. The enormous size and heavy to carry, Segway MAX can be a pain to deal when storing it in the bus (especially crowded, I would rather ride the scooter to the train station. It is actually faster than bus including the wait time). For train, somewhat it jiggles and might move. So, it is best to keep a close eye on it.
My Honest Review about it:
Okay, so I live in a hilly area, and as a scooter seller, I get to go home with any scooter basically. Yay! Just need to remember to charge it and bring it back the next day. Since I have a Segway ES2, charging for me had never been an issue for Xiaomi, Xiaomi PRO, and now Segway MAX! They actually put another port for ES2 chargers. That is just brilliant. I don’t want to buy an adaptor just yet because it is an American plug, so, I just plug my ES2 charger, and it works like a charm. Surprisingly, it charges quite fast! At 6 hours charging, from zero to fully charged. That is like 10km charged per hour passed. Crazy, right?
Let’s go into minor details, unfolding the scooter is a pain compared to Xiaomi and Pro, they make a latch, but you have to unhook it manually, which took me a second or two longer; in Xiaomi, you just have to press the top part of the latch, and it unhooks. Securing it? No problem, quite easy actually and folding it back down, it does feel different and more comfortable from Xiaomi. As for bell, it is not a deal-breaker, but sometimes, it can be a bit unresponsive for just one ‘ting’ (or ‘ding’ whatever you want to call it); you will have to spin it hard to get multiple ‘tings’ sound. Brake is the same as Xiaomi brake, and because of more extended handlebars, a longer hand brake would be more comfortable. Unfortunately, this one will have to do. Button as well feel a bit harder to press, but considering this is waterproof now, It is a good trade-off.
For riding, it does have better power, slightly higher than the Xiaomi Pro. So, you can climb hills better now without having to push the scooter up or risking to burn your cable (commonly found in ES2 and ES4). For the back wheel drive, I do have to say it feels more stable and no more spinning aggressively wheel (you will know when you ride ES4 uphills). As for Tyre, you will feel taller, and as a 178cm man, I feel comfortable for this scooter. It is like having a mini car, but small and electric.
So, for those of you who are thinking if you should get Segway MAX, now is probably the time to decide. I weight an issue? Should I buy it knowing that it would be better than Xiaomi PRO in terms of power and range? How can Segway MAX help my daily commute? Once all the boxes are ticked, and you decide to buy one because you are beautiful and deserve good things, why not head on and treat yourself with one today?
